Welcome to Monday’s Mentoring: Don’t Forget the Fun Stuff.

Do you ever get so involved in making sure you are doing everything you need to do in your homeschool you forget the fun stuff?  It can easily happen.  Yes, it is important to complete your state’s homeschool requirements.  However, if you forget to include the fun stuff, you and your children can easily become frustrated and bored with homeschooling.  It can even lead to homeschool burnout.

You might wonder how you can add fun stuff to school and do everything else you need to accomplish. You do not have to do anything elaborate.  It can be as simple as watching a video that relates to what you are learning.  You can add a mini-lesson that does not require writing a report or any other schoolwork, such as learning about ice-cream.  Going on a virtual field trip to the Rainforest can be interesting.

One suggestion you might want to implement as you are preparing your school calendar is to leave time on Friday’s for some fun.  It will motivate the children to complete their studies throughout the week so they can participate in the fun stuff on Friday.

Blessings,
